03/05/2010 - (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Milwaukee Bucks continue their push towards a postseason berth tonight at Washington's Verizon Center, where the surging club will shoot for a home-and-home sweep of the struggling Wizards.

Milwaukee posted its seventh victory in its last eight outings with Wednesday's 100-87 home triumph over Washington. The Bucks, who haven't reached the playoffs since the 2005-06 campaign, have gone an impressive 13-4 since January 27 and have vaulted into sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings.

Trade-deadline acquisition John Salmons continued to pay dividends for Milwaukee in the team's most recent win, with the underrated swingman recording a team-leading 22 points on 9-of-15 shooting against the Wizards. In eight games since being dealt to the Bucks from Chicago on February 18, Salmons has averaged 20.4 points and 2.9 assists.

"I'm just trying to fit in and help the team win as best I possibly could," said Salmons after Wednesday's contest.

Ersan Ilyasova also had a big game for Milwaukee, compiling 19 points, 10 rebounds and six assists. Andrew Bogut contributed 15 points to the winning effort, while Carlos Delfino also notched a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards.

Andray Blatche and Randy Foye each scored 18 points for the Wizards, who have dropped three of their last four games. The current Southeast Division cellar- dweller's only win over that span was a four-point decision over hapless New Jersey on Sunday.

The Bucks held a 56-48 lead at halftime, but the advantage swelled to 17 points (77-60) by the end of the third quarter as Washington went scoreless for nearly a six-minute stretch at one point.

"We work too hard to let any team get up on us like that," said Blatche. "We were just paying sloppy."

Washington will attempt to bounce back with a return to the Verizon Center, where the club edged the Bucks by a 104-102 count on December 2. The Wizards also earned a 109-97 verdict over Milwaukee at the Bradley Center later that month behind 25 points from Caron Butler and 23 out of Antawn Jamison.

Those two players are no longer with the Wizards, however, having been shipped to Dallas and Cleveland, respectively, at last month's deadline.

The Bucks have won five of the past seven overall meetings between these squads.
