Timberwolves try to halt three-game losing streak against Bucks
Basketball Betting Lines
12/22/2006 -
(Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Minnesota Timberwolves will try to rebound from a
bitter ending to their most recent game when the struggling club hosts the
Milwaukee Bucks tonight at the Target Center.
Minnesota dropped a 111-94 decision to the Los Angeles Lakers after being
outscored 34-7 in the fourth quarter. The output was the Timberwolves' lowest
in franchise history for a final period.
Kevin Garnett barely missed a triple-double, compiling 22 points, 11 rebounds
and eight assists, but Minnesota still suffered its third straight defeat
after a four-game winning streak. Ricky Davis also scored 22 points in the
loss.
The Timberwolves look to end their slide against a Milwaukee club that has had
no success at the Target Center in recent years. The Bucks have lost seven in
a row in Minnesota since a 94-85 victory on March 28, 1999.
Milwaukee has won two in a row in the series, however, including last week's
108-104 verdict at the Bradley Center. Michael Redd and Maurice Williams each
had 28 points to propel the Bucks.
The T-Wolves had won 12 of 13 over Milwaukee prior to those two most recent
defeats.
The Bucks bring a two-game win streak into tonight's tilt, including an
impressive 121-95 rout of defending world champion Miami on Wednesday.
Williams recorded his first career triple-double after racking up 19 points,
11 rebounds and 10 assists. Redd finished with a game-high 28 points.
Milwaukee forward Charlie Villanueva sat out last Saturday's meeting with the
Timberwolves due to tendinitis in his right shoulder, but returned on
Wednesday and recorded 16 points on 5-of-8 shooting.
The Bucks are now 7-2 when they hold an opponent under 100 points this season.
Milwaukee has struggled on the road, however, having dropped 10 of 14 as the
visitor thus far.
